Q. How do I post a job ad?
A. Just email the text to with a copy to Please send the text in a Word document, up to 300 words. We can include your logo if sent as a GIF or JPG attachment with a file size of 25K or less. We post within one business day and confirm the posting by email. If you have not heard from us within one business day, it means we did not receive the email, or (rarely), that we are out of town without access to the Internet. Once the ad is posted, we will invoice you, and give you payment instructions. You can pay by check, online or by faxing or telephoning us your credit card information.

Q. Is there any information I should include within my ad?
A. We recommend that you include specific requirements for the position (board certification [AP/CP, AP, CP, AP or CP] or board eligibility, subspecialty boards, fellowships, years of experience, skills), desired qualifications, the specific number of positions (this is unclear in some ads), and the projected starting date. We also recommend that you state whether or not this is a J1 or H1 Visa or health professional shortage area opportunity, since some applicants need to know this. We also suggest that you include an email address or a fax number. We recommend that you do NOT require applicants to register online because they don't like doing this and it will reduce your response. If online applications are a requirement of the institution, please confirm that the ad is actually posted on your website, and that the website is working. You may also want to provide an email contact for assistance with the online application (since they are often not easy to use).

Q. Are there any ads you DO NOT post?
A. We cannot post ads which violate federal law by discriminating on the basis of age, gender or religion. If your ad requests an "energetic" pathologist, our lawyers have told us this must be changed to "enthusiastic", or something that does not imply a younger age.

Q. How much does a paid job listing cost?
A. The cost for posting a Pathologist or PhD position is $925. This is a flat fee for posting until the position is filled, up to 6 months. Your ad can be for one or more than one position. Renewals of ads that have not yet expired (i.e. that are still posted) with minimal changes are 50% off. The cost to post any other type of laboratory position is $500 for up to 6 months.

Q. Do you give an agency discount?
A. Yes, we give a 15% agency discount if the ad is pre-paid. The agency discount is only good for Job, Fellowship, and Conference advertising. The agency discount is not given if other offers or discounts are used.

Q. Do you offer promotional packages for 6 or more pathologist / PhD job listings?
A. Yes. For 6 or more job ads, advertisers who prepay receive a 10% discount, one email blast or social media posting which otherwise costs $1,000 (based on availability), and placement of their name and ads in our organizational section. For 20 or more job ads, the discount is 20% and you receive 4 email blasts. Contact us with any questions.

Q. How can I get listed in the Organizations section?
A. The section is limited to job advertisers who purchase a package of 6 or more Job ads. Once purchased, the advertiser continues in the section indefinitely.

Q. How long will my ad be posted?
A. Job listings run until the position is filled, up to 6 months. Please contact us by email or phone when the position is filled so that we can remove the ad.

Q. How many visitors does the site have?
A. is the world's most popular pathology website, with 8.8 million Google Analytic sessions in 2017, an increase of 57% from 2016. In 2017, we had 21.3 million pageviews, including 592,491 just to the Jobs pages.

Q. What kind of response can I expect?
A. Most advertisers for Pathologist positions receive a large number of responses. Part-time positions or positions outside major urban areas may be more difficult to fill, but our website has tremendous traffic, so pathologists will know about your position. All new job advertisements are also included in our biweekly emails of Pathologist/PhD Jobs or Laboratory (other) Jobs, with 5,728 subscribers. To assist the Pathology community, data from all Pathologist ads is used (in aggregate) in our quarterly Pathologist Jobs Report. Response to non-pathologist ads varies.

Q. Can I make changes to the ad?
A. You should proofread the ad before you send it to us, and make sure it includes the content you need. As a courtesy, we allow minor changes in the first week only, but you must tell us what needs to be changed (don't just send us the new ad). After one week, we do not allow changes. If you want to advertise another position, or make a major change, including changing specialties or the job title, you have to post a new ad. As a practical matter, most visitors do not look at ads again that they have previously reviewed, and will not notice your changes.

Q. I want to remove the ad before the expiration period. Do I get a credit for the balance? Can I re-post it later for no additional charge as long as it is before the expiration date?
A. No. Once the ad is posted, you cannot get a refund. This applies whether you have filled the position, or changed your mind about posting the ad. Most of our costs are associated with our rapid posting of the ad. For that reason, we cannot give credits if it does not run for as long as we allow. Once you remove it, we charge full price to put it up again. We do allow you, for no additional charge, to add and remove terms such as "On hold until further notice".

Q. Can I pay by credit card?
A. Yes, you can pay with a credit card in two ways. First, you can pay online.  Go to the Home Page at, then click on the Advertise button at the top of the Home Page. Then scroll down until you see Jobs Page and click on the credit card option for either Pathologist or Laboratory Jobs. The second way to pay by credit card is to telephone (248/646-0325) or fax (248/646-3119) us your account holder name and address, credit card type, credit card number, expiration date and security code (3 digits for Visa and Mastercard, 4 digits for American Express). You can also pay by check.

Q. If I want to pay by check or money order, where do I mail it?
A. Our mailing address for checks and correspondence is:, Inc., 30100 Telegraph Road, Suite 408, Bingham Farms, MI (USA) 48025.

Q. What if I am posting an ad from outside the United States / Canada? How do I pay for the ad?
A. These ads must be prepaid. We accept credit card payments (online, faxed or over the phone) or company checks for these ads. Unfortunately, we cannot accept Wire Transfers.

Q. Who can I talk to if I have questions?
A. Please contact our staff at 248/646-0325 or email us at
