Surgical Pathology Instructor

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (USA). Beverly Pathology invites applications for Surgical Pathology Instructor positions in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. The successful candidates will join a subspecialized anatomic pathology department which supports the clinical and academic missions of an internationally recognized department. One year of prior fellowship training in surgical pathology or a surgical pathology subspecialty is preferred. Eligibility for California licensure and for appointment to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Staff is required.

These positions are one year in duration with graduated independent sign-out, coupled with responsibilities in resident/gross room teaching, an active intraoperative consultation service and part- time research. The first half of the year will have a heavy emphasis on independent growth, with time divided between sign out of cases from core specialties and intraoperative and gross room consultation. By the end of the second quarter, the Instructor will be expected to be capable of independent sign out. Instructors will also have 4 weeks of elective time, which may be used to complete research projects or for subspecialty rotations of personal interest.

Instructors will be employed by Beverly Pathology, an independently contracted pathology group under the Cedars-Sinai Medical Foundation providing exclusive pathology services to the Medical Center. Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, located at the junction of Los Angeles and Beverly Hills, is an 886 licensed bed quaternary medical care facility and is the largest private not-for- profit provider of health care on the West Coast, treating more cancer patients than any other medical center in Southern California. The Department, with its 50 faculty, oversees a clinical operation of over approximately 5 million laboratory tests, robust outreach and consultative referral practices. Surgical Pathologists

CLS is a multi-site, regionalized laboratory providing comprehensive laboratory services to Calgary and surrounding communities. CLS processes 30 million tests, 260,000 surgical specimens, 215,000 gynecologic cytology specimens, and 10,000 non-gynecologic cytology specimens annually. Successful candidates must have recent experience in a setting with a similar case complexity. CLS is an independent, but publically funded organization that is a wholly owned subsidiary of Alberta Health Services (AHS), and is affiliated with the University of Calgary (U of C). Partner Track Surgical Pathologist/Hematopathologist

The Donor Room collects 4900 allogeneic blood products in addition to 700 stem cell collection and therapeutic procedures. The Cell Therapy Laboratory supports 650 transplants annually which require cutting edge cell processing techniques.

This position includes participation in attending coverage, administration, and development of Cellular Therapy and Transfusion Medicine services. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to help provide medical oversight of laboratory services across MSK Manhattan and Regional laboratories, participate in quality management programs, conduct new test development, engage in translational/collaborative investigations, and play an integral role in clinical consultation and interpretive reporting. TAMPA, FLORIDA (USA). As Medical Director of the Flow Cytometry Laboratory, they will be responsible for daily operations and test development, oversee technical personnel, and direct related education for faculty and staff. Faculty Position: Molecular Hematopathologist

TAMPA, FLORIDA (USA). The H. Lee Moffitt Cancer & Research Institute is inviting applications, M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. for a full time faculty position at the level of Assistant or Associate Member in the Department of Hematopathology and Laboratory Medicine. The H. Lee Moffitt Cancer & Research Institute is a NCI designated Comprehensive Cancer Center with nationally recognized Programs in Hematologic Malignancies and Bone Marrow Transplantation, and the candidates will also be members of this multidisciplinary team of physicians and scientists, with opportunities to join established basic research programs, as well as excellent opportunities for translational research in areas of related interest. The candidates will interact with interdisciplinary physicians, medical students, residents, and fellows, and participate in multidisciplinary case conferences.

Successful candidates must have a M.D. degree and be board certified, or eligible, in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and fellowship trained in Hematopathology. Experience and/or fellowship training in Molecular Pathology is essential. The Hematopathology Department is closely affiliated with a large Hematologic Malignancy Program with strong emphasis on myelodysplasia, acute leukemia and lymphoma. The department supports a growing molecular diagnostic laboratory providing both FISH and NextGen sequencing methodologies, as well as new technologies in partnership with the Personalized Medicine Institute. Excellent opportunities for basic and clinical research collaboration exist. Experience in a multidisciplinary university clinical setting is preferred. CALGARY, ALBERTA (CANADA). Calgary Laboratory Services (CLS) and the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine (DPLM) are seeking a qualified Academic Dermatopathologist. The successful candidate will join four other dermatopathologists within our current group of approximately 100 laboratory physicians and scientists.

CLS is a multi-site, regionalized laboratory providing comprehensive laboratory services to Calgary and surrounding communities. CLS processes >30,000,000 tests, 250,000 surgical specimens, 215,000 gynecologic cytology specimens, and 10,000 non-gynecologic cytology specimens annually. The dermatopathology service signs out approximately 30,000 surgical cases and 1,800 consultations per year. CLS is an independent, but publically funded organization that is a wholly owned subsidiary of Alberta Health Services (AHS), and is affiliated with the University of Calgary (UofC). The CLS and DPLM offer residency training programs in Anatomic Pathology, General Pathology and Neuropathology, as well as Fellowship training in subspecialty areas within Anatomic Pathology. The position would involve substantial teaching responsibilities for pathology and dermatology residents as well as a dermatopathology fellow.

Calgary, the largest city in Alberta, is located within an hour’s drive of the Rocky Mountains, and within a half day’s drive of eight national parks. Job Summary & Responsibilities
Each Dermatopathologist takes direction from, and reports to the Dermatopathology Specialty Group Leader as well as the Clinical Section Chief, Anatomic Pathology / Cytopathology, who in turn reports to the Vice President Medical Operations (CLS) and Zone Clinical Department Head (AHS). Dermatopathologists must maintain the highest possible standards of practice including prompt delivery of services to match established performance indicators and turn-around times, must actively participate in such activities as quality assurance, quality control and quality improvement programs, and must actively participate in undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate medical teaching. This is a joint UofC / CLS academic position; the successful candidate will hold a Faculty appointment at the Associate or Professor level with up to 50% protected time for academics.

Qualifications
Qualifications for the position include an MD, eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta, certification in Anatomic Pathology and Dermatopathology. Experience and expertise in molecular diagnostics would be an asset. The successful candidate must have at least 5 years of experience, a strong teaching track record and research background.

Compensation
CLS provides an excellent remuneration package including relocation assistance. Albertans pay no provincial sales tax. Options to function as either a contractor with or an employee of CLS exist. Starting remuneration is commensurate with the level of fellowship training and experience. Range of remuneration is $350,197 to $407,373 (includes $9,000 CME) per annum (Canadian dollars).

Academic Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathologist

AURORA, COLORADO (USA). The Department of Pathology at the University of Colorado's School of Medicine seeks a junior or senior level Board-certified, full-time physician faculty member with subspecialty training and expertise in gastrointestinal, pancreaticobiliary, and liver surgical pathology to join our growing digestive disease service. Completion of a gastrointestinal and liver pathology fellowship or extensive experience and expertise in gastrointestinal, pancreaticobiliary, and liver pathology is required. The successful applicant's academic rank and departmental role will be dependent on experience. The general responsibilities and expectations mirror the mission of the Department: excellence in clinical care, medical undergraduate and graduate education, and scholarship. The University of Colorado Hospital is on the Anschutz Medical Campus in a northeastern suburb of Denver. The University of Colorado Hospital is a flourishing tertiary care referral center for digestive diseases and is the only major liver transplant center in the region. Our graduate medical education program trains approximately two dozen residents and approximately seven fellows at any given time.

The successful applicant will join a group of twenty two hybrid subspecialty surgical pathologists based at the University of Colorado Hospital and will serve as the team's fourth full-time gastrointestinal, pancreaticobiliary, and liver pathologist. The digestive disease pathology subspecialty service values collaboration and provides tremendous opportunity for academic career advancement. There are a plethora of active digestive disease research programs within the School of Medicine. Clinical responsibilities are primarily related to digestive disease surgical pathology but time is available to participate on other subspecialty services.
