~6,000 to 8,000 Surgicals, Non-Gyn Cytology~1000, Bone Marrows~80 to 100, Pap Smears~600 to 700, Clinical Path reviews~500. Clinical Path call consists of mainly calls from Blood Bank. Group covers two community hospitals and a reference laboratory. Pathologists perform Medical Review Officer Duties for Toxicology located at the reference laboratory. Salary is negotiable. Benefits include malpractice insurance, medical staff dues at both hospitals, reimbursement for Florida medical license, reimbursement of CME expenses up to a limit, partial (1/2) payment of medical and dental health insurance, 30 days vacation includes CME and 15 sick days. This position is a key laboratory leadership position. Overseeing the laboratory operations as a medical scientific leader of the Biochemistry Section. You will liaise with clinical users for medical and scientific operational issues and make decisions related to the laboratory section. Participate in test interpretation and reporting. Oversee the evaluation and implementation of testing methodology in collaboration with other Section Chiefs/Divisional Directors. MD candidate: Minimum qualifications include a MD with eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta with certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. The service provides teaching for pathology and dermatology residents and fellows. We currently have 2 ACGME accredited positions per year, and usually have at least 1-2 international rotators. Our consultation program has subspecialty interest in cutaneous lymphoma, melanocytic pathology, pediatric dermatopathology, and adnexal tumors. Multiple interdisciplinary conferences include a weekly melanoma and cutaneous oncology tumor board, dermatology grand rounds, and a cutaneous lymphoma conference.

Academic Anatomic Pathologist - Autopsy Pathology

ROCHESTER, NEW YORK (USA). The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Rochester (URMC) School of Medicine & Dentistry, in Rochester, NY, is currently recruiting for an academic anatomic pathologist with an interest in autopsy pathology. Research Scientist in Renal and Transplant Pathology

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS (USA). Full time academic position in the Immunopathology Research Laboratory at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) in Boston for expert renal pathologist with skills in experimental transplant and human kidney pathology, nanostring transcript analysis, morphometrics, whole slide imaging, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence and electron microscopy, clinical research.

The successful candidate will work with a team of pathologists and scientists involved with clinical kidney biopsies and research in transplantation of kidney, hearts, and livers in experimental animals (mice, non-human primates and pigs). The person will supervise the Nanostring analysis of transcripts in tissue samples.

Appointment will be as a Research Scientist, supported by NIH grants and laboratory funds, at a salary level of $80,000-120,000 annually.

Minimum requirements:
•   M.D. degree with postgraduate training in anatomic pathology
•   At least three years of experience in clinical and experimental renal pathology

PORTLAND, OREGON (USA). The Department of Pathology at OHSU seeks an experienced academic surgical pathologist to serve as Director of Surgical Pathology. Molecular Genomic Technology Development Specialist

The Molecular Genomic Technology Development Specialist works in the Division of Molecular and microbial Diagnostics and Development to assist the Doctoral Directors in assay design, instrument scripting, production processes, method verification, and validation controls. He/she will be able to adjust assay parameters to optimize instruments and assay precision, accuracy, and cost-benefit.

Assists to perform clinical assessments to collect, validate, and analyze data required to document laboratory impact. Accountable for adherence to all policies and procedures and for maintaining current knowledge of policies from CLIA and other regulatory agencies and laboratory guidance documents.

Job Requirements:

•   Master's Degree in Life or Health Science from an accredited program or Master's degree in related field with courses in relevant field is required.
•   Minimum two (2) years' experience in molecular genetic/genomic technologies including next generation sequencing analysis and interpretive strategies is required.
•   Certification or eligibility as a Technologist in Molecular Biology through examination by the American Society for Clinical Pathologists [MB (ASCP)] is required.
•   Demonstration of peer-reviewed publications with independent contributions preferred.
•   Experience with bioinformatics tools (R, Python) and databases (NCBI, COSMIC, Ensemble, IGV) preferred.

We have a yearly volume of approximately 30,000 surgical pathology cases, 30 autopsies, 400 flow cytometry cases, 250 bone marrows, 24,000 GYN cytology specimens, and 4400 non-gyn cytology specimens.

Our department provides training to a pathology residency program and serves as a clinical rotation site for Northeastern Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) students and medical laboratory science students from the Cooperative Medical Technology Program of Akron. In order to support our group's academic mission, active participation in teaching and research is necessary. Excellent instructional skills, including formal lectures, are also expected.

Weekly service coverage responsibilities are rotated and include resident teaching service, routine surgical pathology, frozen section, ROSE cytology evaluation, cytology sign out, and autopsy. Rotation of clinical services includes at least two different hospital sites. Weekend and night call coverage is required. Leadership opportunities are available and encouraged.
