Liver/Gastrointestinal Pathology Faculty Opportunity at Washington University

The Department of Pathology and Immunology at Washington University School of Medicine is seeking an AP board certified Liver/GI Pathologist to join the Liver/GI pathology section. The section is an established, fully sub-specialized pathology service. The Department currently receives approximately 70,000 non-cytology surgical pathology specimens per year. The Liver/GI service is the largest subspecialty service within the Division of Anatomic and Molecular Pathology and receives ~17,000 luminal GI specimens, ~1,700 liver cases and ~150 pancreas cases annually.
Education and Expectations: Candidates must possess M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degrees as well as Board certification for Anatomic and/or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology through the American Board of Pathology. Our department provides training to a pathology residency program and serves as a clinical rotation site for Northeastern Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) students and medical laboratory science students from the Cooperative Medical Technology Program of Akron. In order to support our group's academic mission, active participation in teaching and research is necessary. Excellent instructional skills, including formal lectures, are also expected.
Weekly service coverage responsibilities are rotated and include resident teaching service, routine surgical pathology, frozen section, ROSE cytology evaluation, cytology sign out, and autopsy. Rotation of clinical services includes at least two different hospital sites. Weekend and night call coverage is required. Leadership opportunities are available and encouraged.

The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates, an independent nonprofit faculty clinical practice group affiliated with the George Washington University, is in a phase of growth under new leadership of the Department of Pathology. We are growing our clinical services, genomic molecular pathology, digital and computational pathology and innovative research programs. We are seeking academic surgical pathologists with subspecialty training and expertise in gastrointestinal/liver, breast, GYN, genitourinary, renal, or thoracic pathology but other subspecialties may be considered. The Department of Pathology at Dalhousie University in Halifax seeks to recruit two academic Anatomical Pathologists with fellowship training in Dermatopathology, Gastrointestinal Pathology or Molecular Pathology, with research experience in the discipline, as well as competence in Gynecological Pathology. The successful applicants will join 27 other members of staff in the Division of Anatomical Pathology at the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre (QEII HSC).
The QEII HSC, part of the Central Zone of the Nova Scotia Health Authority, is a large tertiary health care institution affiliated with Dalhousie University. It provides a broad range of medical care to patients in the Maritime Provinces and beyond. The Division handles over 50,000 surgical pathology specimens, including consultation cases, and has access to electron microscopy, immunofluorescence and a molecular pathology laboratory.
The position involves clinical service, as well as a commitment to medical education and research. Canadian certification in Anatomical Pathology is a requirement. The successful candidate will be eligible for a faculty position at Dalhousie University commensurate with their experience and qualifications.

Gastrointestinal / Hepatobiliary Pathologist

MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO (CANADA).
Trillium Health Partners (THP) is the largest community based academic health network in Ontario serving over one million residents in the communities of Mississauga, Peel Region, and West Toronto. The hospital encompasses three main sites – Credit Valley Hospital (CVH), Mississauga Hospital (MH), and Queensway Health Centre (QHC) – offering a full range of acute care hospital services, as well as a variety of community-based specialized programs.
We are seeking one (1) full-time pathologist with fellowship training in gastrointestinal/hepatobiliary pathology to join our Laboratory Medicine and Genetics Program to provide clinical services to all three sites of the Hospital. The preferred candidate will be trained in anatomical pathology, or anatomical pathology/clinical pathology, with subspecialty fellowship training in gastrointestinal/hepatobiliary pathology. The start date for this position is negotiable.
The successful candidate will be part of a group of 19 pathologists, one medical microbiologist, one PhD clinical chemist and three PhD cytogenomicists who provide laboratory services to ten clinical programs and our Regional Cancer Centre. The Laboratory Medicine and Genetics Program at Trillium has a strong immunohistochemistry laboratory, state of the art flow cytometry facilities, and houses the regional Molecular Genetics Program which includes next generation sequencing.
The successful candidate will be expected to manage a high volume gastrointestinal pathology service as well as an active medical and oncologic hepatobiliary service. Interest in other subspecialty areas of practice would be an asset. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate fully in our quality management program and multidisciplinary cancer conferences.
Trillium Health Partners is an academic community teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Toronto. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical trainees. Opportunity also exists to participate in clinical and applied research thorough an academic appointment with the University of Toronto.
This position represents an opportunity to join a group of dedicated healthcare professionals in a progressive organization.
