Calgary Laboratory Services (CLS) and the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine (DPLM) are seeking qualified pathologists. Applicants with Fellowship training in Surgical Pathology and/or another subspecialty in Surgical Pathology may apply or equivalent experience. Preference maybe given to candidates with training in Nephropathology, Pulmonary Pathology, Cardiac Pathology, Head & Neck Pathology, Surgical Oncologic Pathology and Breast Pathology. Candidates must have good references and possess a strong track record of collegiality with co-workers. Interest in Quality Assurance would be an asset. The successful candidate will join our current group of 95+ laboratory physicians and scientists working mostly at an acute care institution with a smaller group of pathologists. Participation in a multi-site anatomic pathology on-call rotation is expected.
CLS is a multi-site, regionalized laboratory providing comprehensive laboratory services to Calgary and surrounding communities. CLS processes 30 million tests, 260,000 surgical specimens, 215,000 gynecologic cytology specimens, and 10,000 non-gynecologic cytology specimens annually. Successful candidates must have recent experience in a setting with a similar case complexity. CLS is an independent, but publically funded organization that is a wholly owned subsidiary of Alberta Health Services (AHS), and is affiliated with the University of Calgary (U of C). The successful candidate will receive a Clinical Faculty appointment. The DPLM and CLS offer residency training programs in Anatomic Pathology, General Pathology, Neuropathology and Medical Microbiology, as well as Fellowship training in subspecialty areas within Anatomic Pathology, Hematopathology and Clinical Biochemistry.

Job Summary & Responsibilities
The permanent positions take direction from, and reports to the Clinical Section Chief, Anatomic Pathology/Cytopathology, who in turn reports to the Vice President Medical Operations (CLS) and Zone Clinical Department Head (AHS). Anatomic Pathologists must maintain the highest possible standards of practice including prompt delivery of services to match established performance indicators and turn-around times, must actively participate in quality assurance, quality control and quality improvement programs, must provide on-call services as required and must actively participate in teaching.
Qualifications
Qualifications include a MD, eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta, and certification in Anatomic Pathology or General Pathology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology as well as subspecialty Fellowship training in the disciplines indicated.
Compensation
CLS provides an excellent remuneration package including relocation assistance. Albertans pay no provincial sales tax. Options to function as either a contractor with, or an employee of, CLS exist. Starting remuneration is commensurate with the level of fellowship training and experience. Remuneration range for an Anatomic Pathologist in Alberta is $350,197.00 to $407,373.00.

We are seeking a full time anatomic/surgical pathologist to be part of a medium sized
laboratory serving a major population center in central New Zealand. The laboratory
provides pathology services for both the community and a large tertiary level hospital. As an
Anatomical Pathologist you will be part of a larger team of fifteen Pathologists (including
our branch at Lower Hutt) providing clinical delivery and service excellence through high
quality diagnostic services to our clients and patients across all sites.
Southern Community Laboratories is a division of Healthscope that has provided doctors
and patients in New Zealand with pathology services since 1960. We are the largest provider
of Pathology services and have laboratories throughout New Zealand.
Wellington SCL is a newer branch that opened at the end of 2015 and includes a new
laboratory based at Wellington Hospital. This is a purpose built laboratory servicing the
greater Wellington region (hospital and community referrals). The Anatomical Pathology
department processes over 42,000 surgical specimens each year, this includes over 6,000
Cytology cases, and has an active registrar/resident training programme for trainees of the
Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia.
