DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Basic Purpose:

The DHT is strongly committed to bringing FDA and the public together in partnerships to develop regulatory policy and new therapies, while assuring the safety of human cells and tissues for transplantation with respect to communicable disease risks.

The incumbent will manage projects for regulatory policy implementation or development relevant to regulation of human cells and tissues, such as musculo-skeletal tissues, ocular tissues, hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells, and reproductive cells or tissues. Other duties might include review of regulatory applications for some of these products, policy development related to communicable disease issues, and review of safety data.

Qualifications:
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen. Candidates with a Masters degree with a preferred concentration in biology, microbiology, immunology, pathology, infectious diseases, or a related laboratory field such as medical technology are highly desired. The candidate should have strong organizational and communication skills.

This position may also be filled by appointment in the U.S. Public Health Service, Commissioned Corps.
