Security

Both HIPAA and HITECH compliant, electronic information is housed within a state-of- the-art secure data center with user access restricted along 40 different levels. Industry and regulatory best practices are strictly adhered to, along with appropriate procedural documentation and personnel as outlined by the Office of Civil rights. Additionally all network connections are encrypted via SSL Certificates with 2048-bit keys.

Bar Code Capability

Bar codes are added to slide labels and accession labels by default. Additionally, users have the option to have QR codes added to documents and reports for easy case access.

Data Warehousing
=========================================================================

Data is housed in our state-of-the-art network facility, in addition to being backed up to an offsite Tier 2 Data Center (ANSI/TIA-942). The backup facility is a Department of Homeland Security recognized facility with a fire suppression system and 24/7 security.

Results Distribution

Results can be distributed via web portal, mobile apps, courier (with pickup and route tracking), email, fax, electronic feeds to EMRs and/or our exclusive PathBerry remote printing system.

Maintenance / Support
=========================================================================

Maintenance contract includes implementation, setup and configuration support, as well as active daily support available M-F 7AM – 9 PM EST. Software upgrades occur off hours and no user intervention is required.

Accessioning Features
=========================================================================

PathX provides a full Client Maintenance module, enabling separate Accession wheels and physician lists for each client. Report Types and Specimen Types and Procedures are fully user-configurable. PathX offers a Quick Accession module for basic data entry and label printing of incoming specimens so that processing can begin right away.

Test Set-up for LIS

Orderable tests can be user-configured and associated with specific test vendors and CPT codes. Combination Tests (panels) can be configured for quicker ordering and management. Control results can be required for specific test, and specialized test reports can be developed.

Equipment Interfaces (LIS)
=========================================================================

PathX has been fully interfaced with countless EMRs and Laboratory Equipment, including Ventana Vantage and Virtuoso Digital Pathology products, as well as stand-alone stainers. PathX has also integrated with several slide label and block printers.

Electronic Signature
=========================================================================

An electronic signature and timestamp can be added to any report, as well as a signature image, if desired.

Image Capture
=========================================================================

PathX can easily capture and add specimen images from a local PC for use with reports. Multiple images can be included in a report for each specimen if desired. PathX also supports Organ Diagrams which can be marked with your symbols and included in the case report.

Patient Lookups

Patients can easily be searched by Name, SSN, DOB, and Insurance type.

Internet Reporting
=========================================================================

Reports are available 24/7 at the PathX LIS reporting portal website, as well as via client’s websites where applicable. Laboratory clients can be given login access, allowing for printing and downloading of completed reports.

Billing Interfaces

PathX includes a coding module for verifying CPT and ICD9 (ICD10) codes for closed cases.

Voice Recognition
=========================================================================

PathX has a preferred arrangement with MModal, but also supports other platforms including Nuance (Dragon) products.

Workload Analysis
=========================================================================

The PathX home-screen dashboards give snapshots of lab turnaround time, top clients and daily incoming cases. In addition, PathX has extensive reporting modules allowing for in-depth business analysis along any vector you can imagine.

Quality Control
=========================================================================

PathX can be configured to match your workflow, including status checks at each function. PathX will prevent common mistakes such as re-using accessions values, accession multiple times, missing CPT codes, and invalid data. Additionally an Incident Tracking system is included to assist in analyzing common errors. Pathologists will view a PDF of the final report prior to SignOut as a last quality check.
