Definition / general
  • Benign tumor composed of adipocytes, similar to lipoma of soft tissue and other sites
Epidemiology
  • Anal and perianal lipomas are vanishingly rare with only rare case reports in the literature (see below)
Clinical features
  • Soft pliable mass in rare case reports

  • Tissue biopsy

  • By definition a benign lesion

  • Yellow greasy mass similar to lipomas in other locations
Microscopic (histologic) description
  • Tumor composed of benign adipocytes identical to lipomas in other locations
Positive stains
  • No studies in this location but presumed identical to lipomas elsewhere

  • No studies in this location but presumed identical to lipomas elsewhere
