Definition / general
  • Extremely rare
  • Benign
  • Multilobular masses in chest wall of newborns and infants; may interfere with normal delivery
  • Excellent prognosis, treatment may not be required
Radiology description
  • Large lesion that deforms one or more ribs
Gross description
  • Islands of cartilage and cysts
Microscopic (histologic) description
  • Cartilaginous nodules with variable hypercellularity, cartilage matures into trabecular bone and resembles growth plate
  • Spindle cell proliferation with giant cells and aneurysmal bone cysts
