● Rare infiltrating astrocytomas
● Usually WHO grade II or III
● Characterized by focal, sharply outlined, round to oval islands composed of delicate, neuropil-like and synaptophysin+ matrix
● Prognosis: similar to infiltrating astrocytoma of corresponding grade
