Definition / general
  • Rare; intracranial lipomas are present in < 0.% of general autopsies but only 3% of these are within internal auditory canal
  • Mean age 40 years but all ages are affected
  • Often symptomatic; rarely causes eustachian tube dysfunction (J Laryngol Otol 1997;111:1162)
