Gross description
  • Elevated irregular lesions, often crusty or greasy appearing
  • Often pigmented
Microscopic (histologic) description
  • Acanthosis with marked hyperkeratosis and keratin filled cysts
  • Also increased pigmentation in basal layer
  • No atypia

keratosis) has acanthotic epithelium with massive
hyperkeratosis forming a cutaneous horn; numerous
squamous eddies within acanthotic epithelium
