  • Resembles hypertrophic cardiomyopathy but has localized masses or multiple discrete masses, usually in right ventricle or atrium
  • No septal asymmetry (Hum Pathol 1998;29:904)

Microscopic (histologic) description
  • Discrete but unencapsulated nodules of marked myocyte hypertrophy with disorganization (resembles hypertrophic cardiomyopathy), focal scarring and thickened intramural arteries
  • No myocyte vacuoles
