  • Rare, aggressive tumor, usually in abdomen of adolescents and young adults
  • 80% men

Microscopic (histologic) description
  • Nests of cells with variable amphophilic cytoplasm and hyperchromatic nuclei surrounded by desmoplastic stroma
  • Highly invasive with necrosis and bone destruction
  • Scattered mitotic figures
  • No glandular differentiation
  • No rosettes

Molecular / cytogenetics description
  • t(11;22)(p13;q12) by RT-PCR (Wilms tumor suppressor gene - Ewing sarcoma gene transcript)
