Definition / general
  • Very rare
  • Tongue and lip most common sites
  • Mean age 55 years
  • Gingival tumors are usually metastases and lead to death within 3 years
  • May have good outcome
  • Tumor grade is not a good prognostic factor (Mod Pathol 2003;16:263)
Microscopic (histologic) description
  • Vasoformative tumors, usually solid and occasionally papillary or epithelioid
  • Low grade to high grade
