Definition / general
  • Very rare; highly aggressive
Epidemiology
  • 32 years to post menopausal
Sites
  • Limbs, female external genitalia, head and neck region, chest, nipple, paratesticular soft tissue, and perineum (Am J Surg Pathol 2000;24:927)
Clinical features
  • Pelvic pain, mass

Treatment
  • Bilateral salpingooophorectomy and hysterectomy with or without any adjuvant therapy
Gross description
  • Large and gelatinous mass with cystic change, necrosis, hemorrhage
  • Normal uterus, ligaments, contralateral adnexa
Microscopic (histologic) description
  • Infiltrative mass with reticular meshwork of elongated cells surrounded by abundant basophilic material
