Definition / general
  • Very rare in salivary glands with few reports of involvement of major salivary glands
  • Histogenesis thought to be ectodermal and derived from remnants of branchial pouch epithelium
  • Since easily mistaken for salivary gland abscess, neoplasm or other cysts, excision required for diagnosis and treatment
