● Rare clonal proliferation of Langerhans cells; usually affects skin or lymph nodes, rare in stomach

● 49 year old woman (Am J Surg Pathol 1990;14:489)

Gross description
=========================================================================

● Multiple, small sessile elevations in stomach

Micro description
=========================================================================

● Diffuse collection of large, polygonal cells with oval nuclei containing longitudinal grooves
● May occur in discrete clusters resembling granulomas (Arch Pathol Lab Med 1994;118:1232), may have scattered eosinophils or multinucleated giant cells
● No prominent nucleoli, mitotic figures rare
