Definition / general
- A rare, benign vascular neoplasm, ages 2 months to 77 years
Terminology
- Subtypes / variants include anastomosing (Am J Surg Pathol 2009;33:1364), capillary, cavernous, epithelioid
Clinical features
- Testicular mass or pain
- No known predisposing factors

- Homogenous hypoechoic mass hypervascular on Doppler studies (Am J Surg Pathol 2013;37:860)

Treatment
- Typically orchiectomy is performed due to inability to rule out a malignant neoplasm
- Testicular sparing surgery is preferred if feasible (BJU Int 2009;103:488)
Gross description
- Well circumscribed, reddish brown, hemorrhagic mass
Microscopic (histologic) description
- Small tubules, some with red blood cells, lined by mesothelial like cells with uniform, vesicular nuclei
- Can have focally infiltrative growth pattern with entrapment of seminiferous tubules
