Strong general surgical pathology skills are required to cover ~6,000 to 8,000 Surgicals, Non-Gyn Cytology~1000, Bone Marrows~80 to 100, Pap Smears~600 to 700, Clinical Path reviews~500. Clinical Path call consists of mainly calls from Blood Bank. Group covers two community hospitals and a reference laboratory. Pathologists perform Medical Review Officer Duties for Toxicology located at the reference laboratory. Salary is negotiable.

Surgical Pathologist
Locum Tenens

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center is seeking a board certified surgical pathologist, who is available for a locum tenens assignment starting June 1, 2021 until September 1, 2021 and is able to cover services in the anatomic pathology department that currently includes twelve pathologists with wide range of subspecialty expertise. Responsibilities include sign-out of general surgical biopsies and resections as well as participating in autopsy and frozen section services. Good communication skills and desire to work collaboratively with pathology staff and clinical colleagues are required. Interested candidates must have a current MA license and board certification.
The anatomic pathology department processes over 37,000 surgical specimens, 11,000 gynecologic cytology and 6000 non-gynecologic cytology specimens per year. It provides subspecialty expertise in breast pathology, GI pathology, medical renal pathology, dermatopathology, gynecologic pathology, cytopathology, neuropathology, transplant pathology as well as hematopathology among others. In addition it provides consultative services to other hospitals within the Beth Israel Lahey Health System.
Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, a founding member of Beth Israel Lahey Health System, is a physician-led, multi-disciplinary group practice of over 1900 physicians with more than 50 medical and surgical specialties and uses EPIC electronic medical records. It serves 3,000 patients every day through 345-inpatient hospital beds, ambulatory care center, 24-hour emergency department and American College of Surgeons verified level I trauma center. We are a teaching hospital of Tufts University School of Medicine and many of the physicians hold teaching assignments at Harvard Medical School and Boston University School of Medicine. Opening for AP/CP Boarded Cytopathologist
ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI (USA).
A busy, well-established, hospital-based, private practice group is seeking a board
certified (or eligible) cytopathologist for part-time or full-time employment. The group is a physician
owned and managed team of seven full-time AP/CP boarded pathologists, several with subspecialty
boards in cytopathology and/or hematopathology, one CP and Transfusion Medicine boarded
pathologist, and two exceptional Pathologist’s Assistants. The group serves not only a Top Ranked, 400
bed acute care hospital in a desirable suburb of West St. Louis County, MO but also serves three smaller
hospitals in the community. The centralized hospital laboratory processes approximately 28,000
surgical specimens, 400 bone marrow specimens, 600 flow cytometry specimens, 3,300 non-gyn
cytology specimens, and 18,000 Pap smears annually.
Applicants must have fellowship training and board certification or eligibility in cytopathology, board
certification in Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology, and licensure or eligibility in the state of
Missouri. Exceptional surgical pathology skills with the ability to sign-out a broad spectrum of simple
and complex surgical pathology specimens, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the
ability to work independently are also necessary. Experience in hematopathology is highly desirable but
not required.

WINNIPEG, MANITOBA (CANADA).
Shared Health invites applications for a Provisional (24-month duration) full-time Forensic Pathologist with the potential to transition to a permanent full-time position.
Forensic Pathologist
The successful candidate will be part of a team of pathologists providing province-wide services for medico-legal autopsies (adult and pediatric) in a medical examiner system, as well as family-consented hospital-based autopsies as required. The total autopsy load for the province is approximately 1,600 cases per year. The Forensic/Autopsy pathologists are expected to participate in departmental academic activities, and are responsible for training pathology residents from the Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba, as well as providing instruction to allied health professionals. Toxicology and histology services are performed in house and access to consultation with staff from the Pathology Department is available. Three full-time neuropathologists provide regular neuropathology services and consultation, and Forensic Odontologists and an Anthropologist are also available. The successful applicant may be eligible to apply for an appointment with the Department of Pathology, Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have a medical degree, certification in either Anatomical or General Pathology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent, eligible to sit for the Canadian Royal College examination in Forensic Pathology and be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Priority will also be given to candidates with additional experience in Pediatric and/or Perinatal Pathology or an interest in developing these skills.
Compensation:
Shared Health also provides a competitive compensation package (salary scale starts at $378,791/year), a benefits plan that includes dental and annual vacation of 27 days.

Anatomic Pathologist with Additional Experience / Training in Molecular Pathology and / or Dermatopathology
SAINT JOHN, NEW BRUNSWICK (CANADA).
Position Description:
Horizon Health Network, Saint John area (Region 2), is actively seeking two (2) full-time Anatomical Pathologists in the Department of Laboratory Medicine at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Applications for Locum Tenens will also be considered.
The first position is for a molecular pathologist and/or dermatopathologist who will be employed in the Division of Anatomic Pathology and will be expected to provide Molecular Pathology expertise to a busy service that performs molecular testing for Southwestern New Brunswick. Current services include many stand-alone tests for various tumor mutations as well as broad Next Generation Sequencing for hematologic malignancies and solid tumors. The pathologist will work in conjunction with a Molecular Geneticist who currently oversees the service. The pathologist will be dividing their time between general anatomic pathology service and molecular pathology consultation.
The second position is for an experienced anatomical pathologist with broad surgical pathology skills, subspecialty would be desirable. Applications for Locum Tenens of three (3) months or longer will also be considered for this position.
Remuneration:
These are salaried positions, remuneration is based on the New Brunswick Medical Pay Plan. The current rates range between $281,841 (22.5% Market Adjustment included) to a maximum of $342,610 (22.5% Market Adjustment included) annually (locums receive 10% of the base salary in lieu of benefits) based on qualifications and experience.
On call remuneration is Fee-For-Service which is a direct compensation between the physician and Medicare New Brunswick.

Hematopathologist | Laboratory Medicine

ST JOHN'S, NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR (CANADA).
The Laboratory Medicine Program of Eastern Health invites expressions of interest for a Hematopathologist locum and/or full-time position.
Eastern Health is the largest integrated health organization in Newfoundland and Labrador (NL). It employs over 13,000 employees, provides services to a regional population of more than 300,000 and is responsible for provincial tertiary health services.
The successful candidate will join a group of 16 pathologists, medical microbiologists and clinical chemists providing hospital laboratory services. Our laboratory currently processes approximately 40,000 surgical pathology specimens per year. On-call coverage is required and shared equitably within the group. The Health Science Centre is a teaching hospital affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University.
The division of hematopathology offers transfusion medicine, bone marrow pathology, flow cytometry, hematology core lab, coagulation, and hemoglobinopathy services. It also provides training to medical laboratory technology students, medical students, and anatomic pathology and other medical residents. Hematopathologists are supported by molecular pathology and cytogenetics laboratories providing testing for various myeloid and lymphoid neoplasms, and by immunohistochemistry laboratories.
To be considered candidates must hold a medical degree and have certification by the Royal College Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification (or equivalent) in Hematological Pathology. All applicants must be eligible for licensure to practice by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador and must be granted privileges by Eastern Health.
Salary and benefits for this position are to be paid in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement for salaried physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador.

About the Opportunity:
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Cape Breton Regional Hospital seeks to recruit, ideally an experienced pathologist with Canadian certification in either anatomical or general pathology, however, recent graduates are also encouraged to apply. Cape Breton Regional Hospital is a secondary and tertiary health care institution and provides a broad range of medical care to patients in the Eastern Zone of the Nova Scotia Health Authority. The department handles over 15,000 surgical pathology specimens, 35-40 autopsies and 16,000 cytopathology specimens each year. The successful candidate will be expected to undertake clinical responsibilities in these services and a suitably qualified applicant will also have the opportunity to participate in the oversight of the clinical laboratories in Cape Breton Regional Hospital and in other communities in the Eastern Zone.
