Academic Pediatric Pathologist

Approximately 24,000 blood products are transfused and over 7,050 apheresis procedures are performed annually.

Clinical Path call consists of mainly calls from Blood Bank. Group covers two community hospitals and a reference laboratory. Pathologists perform Medical Review Officer Duties for Toxicology located at the reference laboratory. Salary is negotiable.
Benefits include malpractice insurance, medical staff dues at both hospitals, reimbursement for Florida medical license and Florida NICA fees, reimbursement of CME expenses up to a limit, partial (1/2) payment of medical and dental health insurance, 30 days vacation includes CME and 15 sick days. No DEA needed. There is a full-time Pathologists’ Assistant to gross specimens at one of the community hospitals and the Pathologists gross the specimens at the other community hospital. Associated Pathologists, a private pathology group in the Tampa Bay Area of Florida, is seeking a board certified or board eligible pediatric pathologist. Strong leadership skills are a requirement and candidates who are subspecialty trained and have fellowship training in a pediatric surgical pathology will be favored.
Associated Pathologists is a dynamic, multispecialty group that is the leader of Pathology Services in the greater Tampa Bay Area. Our practice serves St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital which is one of the leading pediatric hospitals in Florida having been named three years in a row by the prestigious IBM Watson Health 100 Top Hospitals annual study. In addition, our practice serves multiple other Baycare Health System Hospitals in the Tampa Bay Area including St. Joseph’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s North Hospital, St. Joseph’s South Hospital, South Florida Baptist Hospital and Winter Haven Hospital.
The pathology group also serves as the Medical Director of the Baycare Molecular Laboratory which was established by our group and the Baycare Healthcare System. Our group consists of 15 Pathologists. Our practice is highly complex, handling over 40,000 surgicals per year including a large volume of pediatric and adult gastrointestinal, gynecologic, breast, urologic, ENT, and hematologic specimens. We have a full-service immunohistochemistry lab as well as molecular laboratory with flow cytometry, conventional cytogenetics, FISH, and PCR testing. Our clinical laboratory performs over 2 million tests annually.

Pathologist

We are a full-service, AP/CP practice looking for a third pathologist with a commitment to general surgical pathology, which constitutes the preponderance of our casework. A pathologist with one or two years of fellowship (preferably cytology, surgical pathology, or hematopathology) is preferred.
We serve two hospitals in the Tampa Bay region of Florida near Clearwater (just a few minutes away from the Gulf coast). Annually, we see approximately 10,000 surgical pathology and 2,500 cytology cases.
