Our current group consists of a hematopathologist, cytopathologist and individuals who have completed general surgical pathology and GI fellowships. Our case mix is broad and includes pulmonary, GI, liver, breast, skin (non-inflammatory derm), neuropathology, and ENT-type cases as well as the routine specimens. Academic Neuropathologist

The Department of Pathology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time faculty at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, on the Clinician-Educator track. Service responsibilities include participation in surgical, autopsy and neurodegenerative neuropathology, with the option of participating and developing the nerve and muscle service. Mentoring and teaching would include medical students, residents, and fellows, as well serving on department, school, and/or university committees. There is also a possibility of serving as Director of the Neuropathology Fellowship Program. There are currently two fellowship slots in the neuropathology division, a dedicated sign-out room, and a strong and collaborative faculty. Numerous opportunities for investigation are available in collaboration with faculty in the Malnati Brain Tumor Institute and the Mesulam Center for Cognitive Neurology and Alzheimer’s Disease, which are both world-class and supported by the NIH.

Academic Gastrointestinal Pathologist

The Department of Pathology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time non- tenure-eligible Clinician-Educator at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Professor. A successful candidate will display excellence in diagnosis and teaching in GI, liver, and pancreatobiliary pathology as well as have a record of demonstrated productivity and scholarship in this area. Experience in other surgical pathology subspecialty areas could be considered. The Surgical Pathology division works closely with other divisions of the department including hematopathology, cytopathology, neuropathology, and diagnostic molecular pathology. In addition to clinical responsibilities and research, faculty are expected to play an active role in teaching and training medical students, residents and fellows.
Qualified candidates must hold MD or MD/PhD degrees and be board certified in AP or AP/CP from the American Board of Pathology. Candidates must be eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Illinois. Fellowship training or other significant experience in gastrointestinal pathology is required. The appointee will be responsible for transfusion services of adult and pediatric patients, a hospital-based blood donor center, a Level 1 Trauma Center and therapeutic apheresis as well as cellular collections. The appointee will work closely with providers in hematology, oncology, stem cell transplantation, neurology, obstetrics, anesthesiology, cardiothoracic and trauma surgery; offer medical oversight to all medical, technical and regulatory processes and procedures including quality assurance; promote and provide leadership for process improvement and blood utilization.
