Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide consultative and laboratory support to Covance and its internal and external customers.
- Oversee laboratory / other functions requiring specialized expertise in Clinical Chemistry.
- Review laboratory testing results, including SPEP / IFE.
- Analyze and respond to inquiries by clinical trials customers.
- Participate in investigator meetings or client visits to provide support for clinical trials.
- Implement quality standards and help assure regulatory and legal compliance.
- Collaborate in development and validation of methods and selection of appropriate tests.
Pathologist applicants will have additional responsibilities outside of Clinical Chemistry:
- Participate in review and approval of new test offerings / service feasibilities related to AP.
- Review abnormal peripheral blood smears.
- Analyze and respond to medical / pathology-related inquiries by clinical trials customers.
- Oversee medical decision-making and fulfill laboratory / other functions requiring a pathologist.
- Collaborate in global trials involving whole slide imaging and artificial intelligence platforms.
Education and Qualifications:
- Experience and/or training in Clinical Chemistry is required.
- American Board of Clinical Chemistry (ABCC) board eligibility / certification is required for Ph.D. candidates.
- Board certification / eligibility in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology is required for M.D. candidates.
- Ability to effectively interact with clients at meetings and conferences is essential.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Pediatric Pathologist
INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA (USA).
The Department of Pathology at Indiana University Health Physicians and the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine are jointly recruiting a pediatric pathologist to serve the pediatric patient population of Indiana. The pathologist will be based at the downtown Indianapolis Indiana Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health, rotating to the Central Pathology Laboratory as needed for pediatric necropsy service. Experience with quality assurance and inspection and accreditation processes is desirable. Candidates with strong pediatric anatomic and clinical pathology diagnostic skills are preferred. The position is on the clinical track; academic rank is determined by qualifications and level of experience.
Riley Children’s Health at IU Health is nationally ranked in 10 of 10 pediatric specialties by US News and World Report. Pediatric Urology is ranked 2nd in the nation and Pediatric Cardiology and Heart Surgery is ranked 5th. The Pediatric Pathology department is located on site at Riley; satellite office space is provided in the central pathology lab, home to numerous sub-specialized pathologists.
The pathology department at large resides in a dedicated laboratory building with first class facilities. There is strong departmental support for translational and clinical research activities should the successful candidate wish to pursue excellence in a subspecialty area of interest. The Pathology group serves ten hospitals within the IU Health Hospital network, the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center, and Eskenazi Health. The applicant must be certified in anatomic pathology or anatomic and clinical pathology. Community Based Pathologist
