PGL has an employment opportunity for an AP/CP board certified pathologist. Subspecialty training and/or board certification in Dermatopathology, Gastrointestinal Pathology, Cytopathology and Gynecologic Pathology are a plus.

Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor - Clinical
NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA (USA).
The Department of Pathology at LSU Health, School of Medicine in New Orleans (LSUHSC-NO) is seeking a faculty member with expertise in Surgical Pathology who will participate in the Anatomic Pathology service at our major clinical affiliate, University Medical Center in New Orleans (UMC-NO). Subspecialty training or interest in Gynecologic Pathology is particularly sought, but other subspecialty preferences including molecular pathology will also be considered. Ability to cover the blood bank in the absence of our Blood Bank Pathologist would be a plus.
UMC-NO is a 424 bed state-of-the-art academic hospital that opened in August 2015 and is experiencing growth in all services, including surgical pathology. The Pathology Laboratory occupies over 40,000 square feet in the Diagnostic and Treatment Tower. As a faculty member, significant participation in the diagnostic service is expected. Additional duties will include teaching of residents and fellows, and the establishment of collaborative projects of translational research in areas of interest. LSUHSC-NO and UMC-NO are members of the Louisiana Cancer Research Consortium (LCRC) and ample opportunities for collaborative clinically relevant research exist.
Qualified candidates must possess a MD (or equivalent), or MD/PhD degree, must be Board Certified/Board eligible in Anatomic Pathology (AP) or Anatomic/Clinical pathology (AP/CP). Must be fully licensed to practice medicine in the State of Louisiana before start date.

Director of Anatomic Pathology

The Department of Pathology at LSU Health Shreveport is seeking a talented surgical pathologist to direct the anatomic pathology division and laboratory at a large academic medical center. The position is offered at the Associate Professor/Professor rank, tenure track/non-tenure track, commensurate with qualifications. The successful candidate will be on the department’s senior leadership team overseeing and mentoring an experienced and dedicated faculty of 28 pathologists and researchers of a growing department and hospital system.
Qualifications include certification in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic/Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology. Expertise in a sub-specialty including OB-GYN, head and neck, pulmonary, or soft tissue/bone pathology would be beneficial. Other sub-specialties will be considered.
