The Department of Pathology at Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH), a Harvard Medical School affiliated hospital, is seeking a full-time general pediatric pathologist to fill the role of Director of Anatomic Pathology. A particular interest in one of the pediatric pathology subspecialties will also be strongly favored (gastrointestinal pathology is strongly preferred, and dermatopathology, renal pathology, or perinatal pathology considered an advantage). Required qualifications include board certification in Anatomic Pathology, Pediatric Pathology and training or prior clinical practice in at least one of the subspecialties mentioned above is preferred. The ideal candidate should have established administrative and leadership skills, a track record of excellence in clinical service, scholarship, teaching, and multidisciplinary collaboration. Preference will be given to applicants at a rank of Associate Professor.
The successful candidate will join a collegial and collaborative group of 23 experienced anatomic pathologists and principal investigators. The Department of Pathology at BCH accessions 12,000 surgical specimens, including ~120 solid tumors, 4600 gastrointestinal biopsies, 2000 cytologies, 1100 consultations, and 40-50 autopsies per year. BCH serves as the primary diagnostic pathology department for pediatric patients cared for at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. The academic rank at Harvard Medical School will be based on academic achievements.

Faculty Position, Department of Oncologic Pathology

The Department of Oncologic Pathology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Department of Pathology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Harvard Medical School invite applications for a full-time faculty appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. This individual will develop an independent, laboratory research program focused on cancer pathobiology and housed in the Department of Oncologic Pathology at the Dana-Farber.
Physician-scientists or Ph.D.-trained clinical lab directors may have clinical responsibilities within the relevant division within the Brigham and Women’s Hospital Department of Pathology. These applicants will be considered irrespective of their area of research or clinical subspecialization. Non-clinicians should have a scope of research that associates them with a pathology department. Candidates must have an M.D. and/or Ph.D. and a proven track record of outstanding laboratory investigation.
The successful candidate will have ample time protected for research. Their academic appointment will be at Harvard Medical School. A strong background in the development of LDTs (laboratory-developed tests) in LC-MS/MS is required. Subspecialty experience in one or more other areas (toxicology, immunology, serology, and molecular diagnostics) and active participation in national organizations (e.g., American Association for Clinical Chemistry) is highly desirable. This position requires extensive interaction with clinical staff in test selection, interpretation and formal consultation.
