Molecular Pathologist

Michigan Pathology Specialists, PC is seeking a board certified/board eligible Molecular pathologist with additional subspecialty training in Hematopathology and/or Gastrointestinal pathology.
Michigan Pathology Specialists primarily serves Spectrum Health Hospitals, a large hospital system with greater than 1100 beds, which includes a dedicated children’s hospital and 8 regional satellite hospitals, as well as an active outreach program. The hospital system supports multiple high complexity services, including numerous oncology programs, bone marrow and heart/lung transplant, various multispecialty team clinics and in house cytogenetic, molecular and flow cytometry laboratories. Spectrum Health Regional Laboratory accessions over 75,000 surgical pathology and 54,000 cytology specimens (including approximately 7000 non-GYN/medical, 3350 fine needle aspirations and 44,000 GYN cytology specimens), 1800 placentas, 1000 bone marrows and over 5 million clinical tests annually.
The group currently consists of 28 pathologists, with multiple areas of subspecialty expertise including Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology, Breast Pathology, Clinical Chemistry, Cytopathology, Dermatopathology, Flow Cytometry, Forensic Pathology, Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology, Genitourinary Pathology, Gynecologic-Oncologic Pathology, Hematopathology, Neuropathology, and Pediatric Pathology. The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Beaumont Health located in southeast Michigan is recruiting two full-time pathologists. Positions will be based primarily at the Royal Oak and Farmington Hills campuses with cross coverage at various Beaumont Hospitals. Strong general surgical pathology skills are required. Specialty training or fellowship is desired. Board eligibility/certification in cytopathology is required for one of these positions.
Beaumont Health is a not-for-profit organization composed of eight hospitals with 3,337 beds in the southeast Michigan region. The Royal Oak campus is an 1131 bed major academic and referral center and the Farmington Hills/Grosse Pointe campus is a 330/280 bed teaching facility, both located in the northern suburbs of Detroit. The two departments collectively perform on an annual basis approximately 68,000 surgical accessions and 90,000 cytology accessions. We offer specialized services such as flow cytometry, molecular pathology and cytogenetics. Beaumont Health is aligned with Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. The candidate must possess strong general surgical pathology skills.
