Incyte Diagnostics has an immediate opportunity for an AP/CP Board Certified Pathologist for a position based in Bellevue and Renton, Washington, at both laboratory and hospital locations. The successful candidate will be AP/CP Board Certified, with a preference for candidates with
3-5 years of documented work experience in hospital-based general surgical pathology sign-out. The candidate should have a strong interest in active participation in a successful group practice. Candidates with previous Laboratory Medical Director experience is preferred and additional consideration will be given to candidates with documented fellowship training in GI pathology, ENT pathology, Breast/Gyn pathology and/or Hematopathology. Incyte pathologists are committed to providing outstanding service in all aspects of community-based clinical and anatomic pathology; therefore, flexibility and strong training and/or experience in general pathology are a must. Candidates must be permanent US residents, have excellent communication skills, have a strong desire to interact with clinicians, administrators and laboratory staff, and be proficient in the performance of frozen sections, cytology interpretations (both GYN and non-GYN) and occasional autopsies. The successful candidate should have an interest in clinical pathology, a willingness to serve on tumor boards and hospital committees, an interest in medical directorship and/or administrative leadership, and the ability to work independently.

Position Description
PhenoPath is recruiting a full-time Surgical Pathologist with 5+ years of attending experience.
Key position requirements include:
- Expertise in the histologic and immunohistochemical assessment of the full range of solid tumor types, for both diagnosis and prognosis/prediction.
- Experience with one or more other testing modalities, e.g., PCR, FISH, chromogenic in situ hybridization, etc.
- Ability to function in a collegial manner with all pathologists and other staff at PhenoPath, including coordination of time off to ensure adequate service coverage, and timely review of colleagues’ difficult cases when requested.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who will serve as the faculty member with direct oversight of anatomic pathology informatics services as well as participate in biomedical informatics and computational research within the department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology. The successful candidate will collaborate with clinical colleagues in the department as well as with the broader applied informatics community at the University of Washington to help enhance the laboratory information system, develop digital pathology and telepathology pathology services, deliver advanced decision support, and leverage technology-based interventions to improve population health and wellness. The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication, and administrative skills and to perform education of medical students and post-graduate trainees. The successful candidate will be expected to work with Epic EHR and Epic Beaker. Development of an extramural funded research program is encouraged. This position will provide opportunities to coordinate with institutional programs in bioinformatics, AI, and aligned topics. An academic appointment at a rank commensurate with experience will apply for this position.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and evaluate clinical informatics tools and solutions within Epic Beaker, Epic EHR, Sunquest LIS, and other healthcare information systems, working in coordination with UW Medicine Information Technology Services.
- Advise on and coordinate implementation of digital pathology services.
- Design and oversee research- and operationally focused informatics projects working with pathology colleagues.
- Serve as a faculty investigator, participating in research, educational, and service activities involving a full spectrum of translational bioinformatics, clinical research informatics, clinical informatics, and population health informatics initiatives.
- Participate in pathology residency and clinical informatics fellowship education.
Service responsibilities will include at least 50% dedicated to operational and administrative informatics-related activities, with the remainder distributed among diagnostic responsibilities, research, and education according to the preferences and specialization of the candidate.
