The King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) is the only specialized cancer center in the Middle East treating both adult and pediatric patients. Founded in 1997, KHCC is a non-governmental, not-for-profit comprehensive center dedicated entirely to cancer care. The mission of King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) is to provide state-of-the-art comprehensive cancer care to the people of Jordan and the Middle Eastern region.
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (DPLM) seeks to provide state-of-the-art services that guarantee the absolute highest measures of quality and accuracy of laboratory testing in concordance with international laboratory standards and to earn a distinction as the primary reference in the field of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, both locally and regionally, especially in the area of pathology and immunohistochemical studies.
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at KHCC comprises the following sections:
- Anatomic Pathology (AP): (Cytopathology, Histopathology)
- Transfusion Medicine
- Clinical Chemistry: (Routine Chemistry, Special Chemistry, Endocrinology, Toxicology)
- Hematology: (General Hematology/Special Hematology, Coagulation
- Microbiology: (Bacteriology, Urinalysis, Mycology / Mycobacteriology, Parasitology, Virology)
- Diagnostic Immunology
- Point of Care Testing
- Phlebotomy Services
The Department of Pathology at KHCC is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and trainees (Fellows/Residents), seeks an Academic Anatomic Pathologist member to join the Department to serve as a Full-time Active Staff member.
The successful candidate will share clinical responsibilities with the department team members and all should be engaged in the teaching of medical graduate staff (fellows & residents).
Candidates must have a USA Board Certification of Pathology; or Western European specialty degree, or Canadian Board. Subspecialty training in Bone/Soft tissue; Neuropathology; any other subspecialties is preferable. Experience in the specialty/subspecialty is a plus.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the KHCC pay scales.
