The Department of Pathology at Michigan Medicine is seeking a hematopathologist to join a group of nine and over 220 total departmental faculty.
The selected individual will share in the diagnostic service work and participate in the diverse research and educational activities of the Department, including teaching medical students, pathology residents, and clinical fellows.
Candidates must have an M.D. or D.O. and be board-certified in anatomic, clinical pathology, and hematopathology. The ideal candidate will have at least three years post-hematopathology fellowship experience with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team; however, recently graduated fellows are encouraged to apply. Specialized training in molecular genetic pathology, coagulation, or medical education is highly desired. The appointment will be at the Assistant or Associate Professor (Clinical Track) level, commensurate with experience, accomplishments, and track record of academic achievement.
Our hematopathology team supports the University Hospitals and Comprehensive Cancer Center at Michigan Medicine, which provide general hospital services and specialized hematologic malignancy care (including stem cell transplantation) for adult and pediatric patients. The diagnostic hematopathology service consists of bone marrow and lymph node biopsies originating from local clinical programs and an established consultation service. The service is supported by high quality flow cytometry, cytogenetics, molecular genetics, immunohistochemistry, and core hematology laboratories.

Section Director, Transfusion Medicine

The Michigan Medicine Department of Pathology is seeking an experienced Transfusion Medicine specialist to lead a dynamic clinical laboratory section, which includes a tertiary care center blood bank, immunohematology reference laboratory, apheresis service, and a cellular therapy laboratory.
Candidates must possess a M.D. or D.O., be board-certified in either Clinical Pathology (American Board of Pathology) or Hematology (American Board of Internal Medicine or Pediatrics), and they must also be boarded in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine (American Board of Pathology).
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience in a transfusion service setting, general knowledge of transfusion medicine, and a deep subject matter expertise in at least one of the following specialty areas: patient blood management, stem cell transplantation, cellular therapies, transplant support/histocompatibility, or laboratory coagulation. The selected individual will join a group of four pathology-based faculty and will be expected to participate in scholarly activities including teaching and research. Abundant opportunities to develop and/or participate in basic, applied, and translational research programs exist within the Department and across Michigan Medicine. Faculty appointment will be in the Department of Pathology with academic rank commensurate with experience, accomplishments, and track record of achievement.

The Department of Pathology at Michigan Medicine in Ann Arbor is seeking an MD, MD PhD, or PhD pathologist with a track record of accomplishments to head our Division of Molecular and Genomic Pathology (MGP).
MGP is housed in 24,000 ft2 of newly designed space on our North Campus Research Center (NCRC). Open laboratories with shared core functions and administrative space are dedicated to comprehensive molecular profiling for somatic and constitutional genomics as well as HLA/flow cytometry. MGP comprises multiple faculty who serve as technical supervisors and clinical consultants in their CLIA designated roles while also fully participating in the educational, and research missions of a large academic department. Faculty in clinical and anatomic pathology board certified in molecular and genetic pathology also participate in molecular and genomic testing signout. Education programs include contact with medical students in the medical school, one of the top pathology residencies in the country, and Molecular Genetic Pathology and Laboratory Genetics & Genomics Fellowships.
