Part-time Anatomic Pathologist

Dermatopathologist
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA (USA).
Due to planned expansion in the dermpath business, our multi-specialty community practice seeks a full-time, AP/CP board certified pathologist with fellowship training in dermatopathology. Position will be general pathology with a heavy focus on dermatopathology. Comfort with signing out general pathology and non-gyn cytology is expected, however the goal is for 85% dermatopathology.

South Bend Medical Foundation is a non-profit Regional Pathology and Blood Center and that has served the local community since 1912. This unique practice consists of sixteen pathologists with subspecialty training in cytopathology, breast, dermatopathology, and hematopathology. Three pathologist assistants handle grossing responsibilities. The pathologists function as integral members of the clinical team, diagnosing approximately 55,000 surgical cases, 700 bone marrows, and 6,000 cytology specimens annually from three large regional hospitals and several outpatient centers. Call is limited to a few weeks per year and weekend coverage is compensated with extra weekdays off. Pathologists do not perform autopsies.

AP/CP Board-Certified Full-Time Pathologist
EASTON, MARYLAND (USA).
Chesapeake Pathology Associates, LLC, a group of three pathologists, is seeking an AP/CP board-certified full-time pathologist. One pathologist is retiring. This is a partnership track position.
The pathologists are hospital-based independent contractors. The candidate’s pay and benefits will be commensurate with the candidate’s ability, credentials, and experience.
A surgical pathology fellowship is desirable, or specialty training in skin, breast, or gastro-intestinal pathology. Good communication and computer skills are required.
The pathologists oversee three hospital laboratories, in Easton, Cambridge, and Chestertown. These three hospitals form Shore Health System, which is an affiliate of the University of Maryland Medical System.
In anatomic pathology, there are about 11,000 surgicals per year, 1300 non-gyn cytologies (including FNAs), and 2300 Paps. The group has one Pathologists’ Assistant who grosses the surgical cases and assists with frozen sections. No autopsies are done locally; these are performed by the University of Maryland in Baltimore.
In clinical pathology, the hospital laboratories have a volume of about one million tests per year. Each pathologist covers one or two specialty areas, such as Chemistry or Blood Bank. On call requirements (nights, weekends, holidays) are light and equally shared.
Easton has long been considered one of the most livable small towns in the US, and it has easy access to Baltimore, Washington DC, and Philadelphia. It is a “weekend getaway town” for many people in the region, and so has a much higher density of amenities (such as fine restaurants) than might be expected from the size of its local population. We have a total pathology volume of 15,000 surgical cases (approximately 50% dermatology) 4,000 paps and 500-600 non-gyn cytology. The current departing dermatopathologist does 80% derm 20% general surgical.
Partnership with 5 Dermatology providers, a Mohs Surgeon, and a Plastic Surgeon, dermatology EMR allows to see all clinical pictures, communication with derm providers is very easy and fast. Complete lab remodel in 2017 and updated immunohistochemistry, flexible lab about adding stains, pathology assistant available for grossing and all other functions. Histology lab is located across the hallway. Immunofluorescence is sent out. If a consulted is needed, there is an easy process to send out to multiple locations. Pathologists are collegial and will share non-derm cases for 2nd and 3rd opinions.
Schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00 – 4:30 pm (later if requested for add-ons), on call 1 week at a time, projected every 3rd week – call is generally considered light and limited to a rare frozen section, and rarely answer blood bank/lab questions. Great Work & Home Life Balance!

Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL), in partnership with the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine (DPLM) Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary (UofC), is seeking a full time Dermatopathologist. Applicants with fellowship training/certification in Dermatopathology are invited to apply. APL recognizes some applicants may have more than one subspecialty training.
The successful candidate will join a team of 95+ laboratory physicians and scientists and will be part of the dermatopathology group.
APL is a multi-site, province-wide laboratory providing comprehensive laboratory services. APL (Calgary Zone) processes 30+ million tests, 260,000 surgical specimens, 200,000 gynecologic cytology specimens, and 10,000 non-gynecologic cytology specimens annually. Current Dermatopathology cases are 80,000 with half of these submitted by Dermatologist offices.
APL is an independent, but publicly funded organization that is a wholly owned subsidiary of Alberta Health Services (AHS), and is affiliated with the University of Calgary (UofC).
Qualifications
Qualifications include a MD, eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta, and certification in Anatomic or General Pathology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology as well as subspecialty Fellowship training and/or Certification in Dermatopathology.
Compensation
An excellent remuneration package including relocation assistance is provided. Starting remuneration is commensurate with the level of fellowship training and experience. Remuneration range for a Pathologist in Alberta is $353,874.00 to $411,650.00.

The catchment area has a population of 450,000 and serves the geographic area of Central Alberta. RDRHC is a 375 bed acute care facility providing comprehensive service for most specialties, including an onsite cancer centre. The successful candidate will join a team of 12 pathologists, a PhD clinical chemist and a medical microbiologist. The successful candidate is required to have excellent skills in surgical pathology and cytology. Additional expertise in dermatopathology and/or hematopathology would be of value. There are opportunities to perform bone marrow biopsies with separate remuneration.

Practice Details - KBRH is recruiting for a clinically-oriented pathologist, eligible for BC medical licensure as a Canadian General or Anatomical Pathologist, for a three-person practice. Anatomic Pathologist with Additional Experience / Training in Molecular Pathology and / or Dermatopathology
SAINT JOHN, NEW BRUNSWICK (CANADA).
Position Description:
Horizon Health Network, Saint John area (Region 2), is actively seeking two (2) full-time Anatomical Pathologists in the Department of Laboratory Medicine at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Applications for Locum Tenens will also be considered.
The first position is for a molecular pathologist and/or dermatopathologist who will be employed in the Division of Anatomic Pathology and will be expected to provide Molecular Pathology expertise to a busy service that performs molecular testing for Southwestern New Brunswick. Current services include many stand-alone tests for various tumor mutations as well as broad Next Generation Sequencing for hematologic malignancies and solid tumors. The pathologist will work in conjunction with a Molecular Geneticist who currently oversees the service. The pathologist will be dividing their time between general anatomic pathology service and molecular pathology consultation.
The second position is for an experienced anatomical pathologist with broad surgical pathology skills, subspecialty would be desirable. Applications for Locum Tenens of three (3) months or longer will also be considered for this position.
Remuneration:
These are salaried positions, remuneration is based on the New Brunswick Medical Pay Plan. The current rates range between $281,841 (22.5% Market Adjustment included) to a maximum of $342,610 (22.5% Market Adjustment included) annually (locums receive 10% of the base salary in lieu of benefits) based on qualifications and experience.
On call remuneration is Fee-For-Service which is a direct compensation between the physician and Medicare New Brunswick.

The Laboratory Medicine Program of Eastern Health (EH) invites expressions of interest for multiple full-time, permanent Anatomical Pathologists with sub specialty expertise in any of the following areas, dermatopathology, gynecological, head and neck, lung and lymphomas.
The successful candidate will join a group of 16 pathologists, medical microbiologists and clinical chemists providing hospital laboratory services. Our laboratory currently processes approximately 40,000 surgical pathology specimens per year. On-call coverage is required and shared equitably within the group. The Health Science Centre is a teaching hospital affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University.
Through strong formal affiliations with Memorial University, and on the recommendation of the Discipline Chair, the successful candidates may be eligible for a clinical faculty appointment in the Academic Department of Laboratory Medicine and may be expected to participate in collaborative research activities and scholarship (ie: teaching).

This position is based at our modern laboratory in Wellington Regional Hospital, servicing a population of 500,000. The Anatomical Pathology department processes over 38,000 surgical and 6,000 Cytology cases each year, and has an active Registrar Teaching Programme.
