Academic Surgical Pathologist

The UC Davis Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of California, Davis, is seeking academic physician- educators, and -investigators to grow clinical, teaching and creative programs in surgical pathology at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Clinical (X) or the Health Sciences Clinical Series. Clinical duties will chiefly involve surgical pathology. At least one year of experience teaching undergraduates, graduate students, medical students, or housestaff is required. Participation in the research mission of the institution is expected, either as a collaborator or as the intellectual leader of clinically-oriented research projects pertinent to the candidate’s areas of expertise.
Candidates must have an MD or MD/PhD, and be board-eligible or certified in anatomic pathology. The candidate must have two to five years’ experience in a clinical or academic setting that would meet requirements for appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in one of the University of California’s clinically-intensive academic series [Clinical (X) or Health Sciences Clinical Professor series]. Must have completed a sub-specialty fellowship by July 1, 2021. Gastrointestinal/liver, head and neck and gynecologic pathology, and neuropathology are desirable. Other desirable qualifications include training and expertise in informatics, molecular-anatomic, and/or quality improvement.
A California professional license or eligibility for licensure in California is required.

Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL), in partnership with Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine (DPLM) Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary (UofC), is seeking a full time Academic Anatomic Pathologist. Applicants with certification in anatomical or general / clinical pathology, fellowship training and experience in Head & Neck pathology may apply. Additional sub-specialty training or interest in other disciplines of Anatomic Pathology will be considered as asset.
This is a joint APL / UofC academic position; the successful candidate will hold a faculty appointment at the Professor level with 50% protected time for academics and 50% allocated time for clinical services. The APL medical staff position is a contractor position with APL. Academic appointment will be offered as UofC employee.
Qualifications
Qualifications include an MD, eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta, and certification in Anatomic Pathology or General Pathology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology as well as subspecialty Fellowship training and/or Certification in Head and Neck.
Compensation
An excellent remuneration package including relocation assistance is provided. Starting remuneration is commensurate with the level of fellowship training and experience. Remuneration range for a Laboratory Physician / Pathologist in Alberta is $353,874.00 to $411,650.00.

Oncologic Anatomic Pathologist at BC Cancer
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA (CANADA).
BC Cancer provides a comprehensive cancer control program under the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) for the people of British Columbia. The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is responsible for surgical pathology consultations, central oncologic pathology reviews, in-house and referred-in non-gynecologic cytology, provincial cancer genetics, cancer biomarker testing, predictive molecular tests for patient-selection for targeted therapies, and for the provincial cervical cancer screening program.
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking a full-time anatomic pathologist with expertise in diagnostic oncologic pathology and related translational research. Priority will be given to applicants with specific post-certification fellowship training (1 year minimum) and/or experience at a major academic cancer centre. Expertise and specialty interest in the areas of breast, gynecologic and head & neck pathology is preferred. Protected time will be allocated based on academic productivity, to facilitate clinical, translational or fundamental research pursuit related to cancer. The successful candidate will be recommended for an appointment with the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, University of British Columbia.
Applicants should have Royal College (RCPSC) certification in Anatomic Pathology, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia. Anatomical Pathologist (Multiple Positions)
Seeking Multiple sub-specialties in Gynecological, Head & Neck, Lung & Breast
Full-time – Health Science Centre, Eastern Health, St. John’s, NL
St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador (CANADA).
The Laboratory Medicine Program of Eastern Health (EH) invites expressions of interest for multiple full-time, permanent Anatomical Pathologists with sub specialty expertise in any of the following areas, dermatopathology, gynecological, head and neck, lung and lymphomas.
The successful candidate will join a group of 16 pathologists, medical microbiologists and clinical chemists providing hospital laboratory services. Our laboratory currently processes approximately 40,000 surgical pathology specimens per year. On-call coverage is required and shared equitably within the group. The Health Science Centre is a teaching hospital affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University.
Through strong formal affiliations with Memorial University, and on the recommendation of the Discipline Chair, the successful candidates may be eligible for a clinical faculty appointment in the Academic Department of Laboratory Medicine and may be expected to participate in collaborative research activities and scholarship (ie: teaching).
