Faculty Position: Clinical Pathologist, Chemistry Medical Director
TAMPA, FLORIDA (USA).
The H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute is seeking a successful candidate, MD or MD/Ph.D. degree, with at least three years of experience in Clinical Chemistry to join the Department of Pathology as its Academic Clinical Pathologist, Chemistry Medical Director position. The appointment will be at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Senior Member in the Hematopathology and Laboratory Medicine section of the Department of Pathology. Candidates must have current boards and/or Maintenance of Certification in AP/CP or CP. Expertise in another clinical pathology subspecialty, especially Microbiology or Hematology, is highly desirable. Board certification/eligibility in Clinical Chemistry is preferred, but not required. As a faculty member of the Clinical Pathology service, you will be involved in daily operations and test development, oversee technical personnel and direct related education for faculty, trainees and staff. Additional clinical duties in other clinical pathology areas may be required.
Experience in an academic multi-disciplinary university clinical setting is preferred. Licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of Florida is required.

Surgical Pathologist and Medical Director of Intraoperative Pathology Consultation

Candidates should have an M.D. or D.O or M.D., Ph.D., be board certified in Anatomic Pathology by the American Board of Pathology and be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Tennessee. They should have experience and/or fellowship training in General Surgical Pathology, including experience in Frozen Section Diagnoses and Intraoperative Consultations. Additional surgical pathology sub-specialty training is desirable but not required. Academic appointment as Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor on the Clinician Educator (non-tenure) track will be based on qualifications and experience.

The Department of Pathology, Microbiology, and Immunology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center invites applications for a highly motivated individual to join the faculty of the Clinical Chemistry service and Fellowship Training Program in Clinical Chemistry. The successful candidate will serve as Medical Director of one or multiple laboratory sections, depending on expertise, and work with other faculty to advance the clinical, research, and educational mission of the VUMC Core Clinical Chemistry, Point of Care Testing and Special Chemistry services. This is a non-tenure track position with academic rank and salary commensurate with experience.
Interested applicants must have a doctoral degree (M.D., D.O., and/or Ph.D.) and be board-certified or board-eligible in Clinical Chemistry with a minimum of 2-5 years experience directing a high volume clinical laboratory in an academic medical center. Candidates must have significant experience in clinical consultation of test results and in method development and performance evaluation of specialized chemistry instrumentation including general laboratory automation, immunoassay analyzers, HPLC, GC or LC/MS-MS. Additional responsibilities will include teaching and mentoring residents, students, and fellows as well as conducting basic or clinical research. Candidates should have a demonstrated record of academic achievement through independent or collaborative research, and scholarly publications plus have an interest in pursuing academic activities. Experience with clinical/translational research and contribution to national professional committees is beneficial.
