The Biobank and Biorepository is integrated with the other division to provide continuity with the many downstream tools and technologies commonly used to analyze biospecimens. The chemist will be responsible for technical leadership, training, quality assurance/quality control and regulatory compliance that are associated with laboratory-developed testing.
In addition to toxicology, this position will participate in a rotating sign-out service for interpreting electrophoresis results. This position will also serve as laboratory director for the Indiana University Newborn Screening Laboratory.

Clinical duties will include participation in medical director oversight of all areas of the hematology, hemostasis, and electrophoresis laboratory sections, including test development and quality programs, with an expectation for professional sign-out of protein and hemoglobin electrophoresis, flow cytometry, and/or hematopathology (if eligible). The successful applicant will work closely with the adult and pediatric Divisions of Hematology and Oncology and other clinical services. The Department of Pathology & Immunology at Washington University is home to an ACGME-accredited residency program in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology as well as a fellowship program in Hematopathology. - Provides oversight of laboratory performance, including TAT, days and times of service, evaluation, development, validation, and final approval of test methods and procedures. Closely monitors initial implementation of new methods and systems and timely resolution of technical problems.
- Provides formal and informal medical consultation on patient specific clinical testing.
- Works with senior management to development budget and management of budgetary considerations over the course of the fiscal year.
- Provides support and direction of strategic planning of laboratory services.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements of agencies including but not limited to CAP, CLIA, OSHA, FDA, State of New York (NYSDOH), State of New Jersey.
- Directs quality management and performance improvement activities as directed by the Chief Laboratory Officer (CLO).
- Maintains licensure, certifications, competencies, and professional standing.

Sante Consulting has recently been engaged to conduct a national search for a fellowship trained, board certified or eligible Transfusion Medicine/ Blood Banking pathologist. Our client is an academic university based medical center, located in New York.
The Transfusion service includes the largest blood bank in the County, an active donor room, and a busy apheresis program that supports the Oncology Service, the Renal Transplant Service, and the Neurology Service. This individual will also be a member of the general Clinical Pathology service. The candidate will participate in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows and will be expected to engage in scholarly activities involving clinical, translational, or basic research. Qualifications

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Pathology Service Line Medical Director - Midwest

Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, Wisconsin is seeking a Service Line Medical Director – Pathology to join our system. The Service Line Medical Director will be responsible for the following:
• Directly involved with ensuring adherence to laboratory regulatory and accreditation standards
• Market share/specialty planning, including outreach
• Budget and financial performance of service line (in conjunction with administrator)
• Medical standards, outcomes/quality, affordability & production for service line
• Recruitment for service line specialties; optimize workflow, reduce duplication/internal competition
• Mentoring/annual review/standards of conduct for all service line members
• Defining and enforcing patient experience standards in conjunction with Patient Experience Medical Director
• Identifying, developing and marketing new services/technologies within service line
• Service line coverage/referrals/process standardization & improvement
• Communication/implementation of service line initiatives
• Consulting on specialty coding, reimbursement and salary assignments for service line
