A busy, well-established, hospital-based, private practice group is seeking a board
certified (or eligible) cytopathologist for part-time or full-time employment. The group is a physician
owned and managed team of seven full-time AP/CP boarded pathologists, several with subspecialty
boards in cytopathology and/or hematopathology, one CP and Transfusion Medicine boarded
pathologist, and two exceptional Pathologist’s Assistants. The group serves not only a Top Ranked, 400

hospitals in the community. The centralized hospital laboratory processes approximately 28,000
surgical specimens, 400 bone marrow specimens, 600 flow cytometry specimens, 3,300 non-gyn

Candidate that have at least two years of practice experience with at least one year at a medium sized or larger hospital will be given preference, but also recent graduates from training programs will be considered. The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry, in Rochester, NY is seeking a Cytopathologist. There is a robust fine needle aspiration service throughout the hospital, composed of approximately 2,500 fine needle aspiration procedures. Immediate on-site evaluations are rendered for a range of procedures, including endobronchial ultrasound guided fine needle aspirations (EBUS), Super Dimensional procedures, endoscopic ultrasound guided fine needle aspirations, CT-guided fine needle aspirations, ultrasound guided fine needle aspirations, and fine needle aspirations of palpable and non-palpable lesions. In addition, we have various special interactive programs for cytopathologists including real time intraoperative evaluations with thoracic surgeons and ultrasound guided fine needle aspirations performed by cytopathologists.

Requirements: Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine obtained from one of the schools approved by the VA for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8:00am-4:30pm. Will participate in weekend calls on equal rotation basis.

Mary Washington Healthcare System is a two-hospital system with a total of 512 beds. The hospital has an active oncology program accredited with Commission on Cancer Accreditation for the general program and also accredited by a national program for breast centers. Our current practice is comprised of approximately 20,000 surgicals a year, 5,000 GYN and 3,000 non-GYN cytologies (1,624 fine needle aspirations and 1,376 medicals), and 142 bone marrows. The candidate should be AP/CP certified with the ability to obtain an unrestrictive Virginia medical license. Strong general surgical and cytopathology skills are required. Independent sign-out experience would be advantageous, but recent graduates will be considered. The position includes general clinical pathology duties, and participation in cancer conference, hospital committees and medical staff activities is required. Additional subspecialty expertise would be beneficial, particularly fellowship training in dermatopathology.
Our group provides the full spectrum of anatomic and clinical pathology services to Centra Health, a nonprofit four hospital multi-system healthcare organization based in Lynchburg, Virginia. Our Independent anatomic and molecular pathology laboratory serves the hospital system as well as regional physician practices. Our staff includes two pathology assistants and two experienced cytotechnologists. A variety of teaching opportunities are available depending upon the interest of the candidate. Our practice does not perform forensic autopsies, though opportunities to work as a Virginia Medical Examiner are available.

Practice Details - KBRH is recruiting for a clinically-oriented pathologist, eligible for BC medical licensure as a Canadian General or Anatomical Pathologist, for a three-person practice. Primary responsibilities include medical directorship of area labs, local clinical laboratory oversight, clinical pathology case sign out to include hematology specimens and transfusion medicine, as well as a minor component of general anatomic pathology case sign out. Participation in the on-call rotation for laboratory medicine and transfusion medicine is required.
