Quarter 1 - 2014 totals
For this quarter, there were 58 job postings for full time or part time pathologists at PathologyOutlines.com, which form the basis for the statistics below. This is unchanged from the first quarter of 2013. We have excluded postings that were only for locum, PhD, residency, fellowship or non-Pathologist positions. Of the 58 postings, 53 were for 1 position, 1 was for 2 positions and 4 were for an unspecified number of positions greater than one.
Of the 58 ads, 20 (34%) were for academic positions, and 38 (66%) were for non-academic positions. This represents a shift from the 47% academic positions in the first quarter of 2013. We define academic as an Assistant, Associate or Full Professor position at a University.
For this quarter, jobs were posted from 28 of 50 states and the District of Columbia in the US and 4 provinces in Canada. New York and Texas each had 4 ads, but otherwise the ads were relatively evenly distributed.
