Definition / general
  • Rare congenital disorder with numerous irregular cystic spaces in mediastinum testis
  • May be due to defect in connection between rete testis / seminiferous tubules and efferent tubules
  • Sometimes associated with renal agenesis or dysplasia (ipsilateral)
Cystic dysplasia - rete testis
  • Infants and children, presents as testicular mass
  • Cystic dilation of rete testis with compression / atrophy of seminiferous tubules
  • Developmental anomaly associated with ipsilateral renal agenesis
