CCN Primer - Research ideas

Our goal is to promote strategies that substantially reduce cancer deaths. The papers in this primer detail our 4 main research areas:

  • Combinations of therapy: delaying death in those with aggressive cancers may require using larger combinations of therapeutic agents than are typically given now, addressing not just the local tumor but its microenvironment and systemic changes
  • Early cancer deaths: understanding the physiologic derangements causing deaths within 30 - 60 days of cancer diagnosis
  • Infections: investigating new connections between infectious agents and cancer
  • Healthy living: determining how best to promote a lifestyle that makes healthy living a stronger cultural norm through the American Code Against Cancer and other efforts
